Jesper, apologizing for failing to ping is just way too polite :) And doesn't your blog do this automatically?

As for your main question, I think that James' latest post (see trackback #3) answers most of the questions. It's true that some customization would be required for a consolidated audit trail of the process instance and the decision version, although this is (hopefully) where BPMS vendors and BRMS vendors are continuing to enhance their integration.

Hi Sandy,

I apologize for not leaving a comment here or pinging the trackback URL.

I just wrote a follow-up on my blog (http://dev2dev.bea.com/blog/jesperfj/archive/2007/10/business_proces.html).

I agree that loose coupling is important, but I think some thought has to be put into managing the loosely coupled elements, that's all. I'd be curious if you or James have some practical experience you can talk about on how customers are dealing with this. Or it could be that this is truly not much of an issue...

Business process and business rules encore

James Taylor wrote a nice rebuttal to my previous post on loose coupling of business rules and business processes.

The trackback from James Taylor's post on this post worked fine, and I'm not aware of any problems with trackbacks. In order to initiate the trackback, Jesper's post needs to ping mine, it's possible that his site didn't send the ping.

I just came here from Jesper's site. He points to this post, so I'm surprise there is no trackback back to Jesper's post. Are your trackbacks broken?
