  • Metastorm launches a blog. Only a couple of posts so far, so difficult to judge, but they really need to have real people writing those posts, not titles like "Metastorm PR". Also, attempting to engage the reader with "what do you think" sort of questions at the end of each post are unnecessary (and a bit grating): if people want to comment on what you've written, they will.

Thanks for the plug and the honest feedback Sandy. We value your thoughts, especially given your long-time experience as a blogger. Will take your suggestions into consideration for future posts. One of the reasons we chose to use the Metastorm PR alias is specifically related to the focus of the blog itself. The Metastorm PR alias is set up to primarily post about Metastorm news and events, our announcements, our user conference, etc. and provide thoughts on what our customers are doing. We hope to use the blog as a vehicle to make some of that information more readily available. In addition to blogging under that specific alias, Greg Carter, Kevin Haugh and I will also provide individual posts on technology, trends and the market. And of course, this information is available on our "About" page.

Hi Laura, thanks for the comment. The problem with the alias is that it just looks like part of a faceless corporate PR machine. I would actually recommend having a second blog/page for press releases, with an RSS feed so that people can subscribe to it easily, rather than mix that in with the other posts that you’re referring to — it’s very different type of content and likely appeals to a different audience. The main blog with all your articles could link to the PR blog when there’s a specific point of interest, without including the entire text of the press release.
